Democrats need to unite, or Trump wins (again) | Opinion
As Democrats, we are setting ourselves up for a massive risk by running Bernie Sanders as our nominee.
2020欧洲杯正规平台We, as a party, need to come together and understand the ramifications of a Sanders nomination. His “Democratic-Socialist” platform will alienate millions of Americans — Democrats, independents and Republicans alike — who otherwise would vote against Trump.
2020欧洲杯正规平台If the Democratic Party does not unite under a realistic, level-headed champion of progressive values like Mike Bloomberg, we will lose. Not only will we lose the presidency, but run the extreme risk of a down ballot sweep in losing our critical House majority, and an even greater risk of furthering the Republican majority in the Senate.
A divided Democratic party means Trump wins, Republicans win, and not only do Democrats lose, the entire country loses as well.
I am passionate about this issue because it is not being discussed nearly enough. Like Trump, Bernie has a vocal minority of supporters who come out in droves to support him. The reality is, for the Democrats to win in November, we have to reach out to the voters who are undecided or not committed to any one candidate.
The Bernie supporters, like Trump’s, will back him through thick and thin, and demonstrated in 2016 they will not be there for us on Election Day. That’s not how we’ll win our country back. We have to unite, and come together to support one candidate and that’s Mike Bloomberg.
